Young Pianists, Advanced, and Excellence

Young Talents Competition Rules ‘YOUNG TALENTS’ Competition is open to pianists of all nationalities; it includes 7 levels with age limits as of the registration deadline, Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM

1. Age Limits

  • Young Pianists 1–2: from 10 to 13 years old inclusive
  • Young Pianists 3-4-5: up to 18 years old inclusive
  • Advanced-Excellence: up to 25 years old inclusive

2. Registration

2.1 Online registration implies the candidate’s acceptance of all the rules herein and the competition’s musical program.

2.2 All candidates must complete the online registration form, attaching digital copies of the following:
  • 2 recent, high-resolution artistic photos
  • A valid ID or passport
  • A certificate from their professor or school, or a Curriculum Vitae
  • Bank transfer receipt of the registration fee
Registration fees are non-refundable, and all bank charges are the responsibility of the candidate:
  • For Young Pianists 1–5: 300 dirhams
  • For Advanced and Excellence: 500 dirhams

Registration is only finalized upon receipt of:
  • All required documents, in full and in compliance
  • Proof of payment of registration fees
The candidate will be notified individually by electronic notification.

2.3 A 50% discount applies to national candidates from Music Conservatories under the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication or the Royal Gendarmerie Music Conservatory, provided they submit a recent enrollment certificate.

2.4 The Organizing Committee reserves the exclusive right to accept candidates, who will be notified individually. It also reserves the right to limit the number of participants in certain levels. Incomplete, non-compliant, or late applications will be rejected.

2.5 A candidate may only register for one level.

3. Auditions and Process

3.1 In case of an incorrect piece, the candidate will be heard but not graded. Arrangements are not accepted; only original texts are valid. Memorization is mandatory. Following a draw, the order of performance for all “Young Talents” will begin with the letter “D.” If a candidate’s chosen pieces are not at the required level, the Artistic Direction may reject the application.

3.2 Laureates must attend the Closing Ceremony on Friday, October 31, 2025 to receive their awards. Absentees forfeit their awards, except in validated cases of force majeure.

3.3 At the results announcement, the jury will designate standout talents invited to perform at the Closing and Gala Concerts. No payment is made for these or any prize concerts. The Competition is not responsible for third-party prize offers (concerts, scholarships, masterclasses, etc.).

3.4 By entering, candidates agree that the Association les Amitiés Musicales and its partners may use their registration data to promote the competition. All recordings, images, and sounds—including video submissions, interviews, and concerts—are property of the Competition and may be broadcast worldwide without time or payment restrictions.

3.5 Participants waive any legal claims against the Association and partners regarding the intellectual property of collected data.

3.6 Scheduled dates and times may be changed; affected candidates will be notified individually as soon as possible.

3.7 Appropriate dress is required for auditions and the Closing Ceremony. Any violation of dress code or conduct rules will result in immediate disqualification.

4. Jury

4.1 The jury is composed of internationally renowned pianists, educators, composers, and festival directors from various nationalities. Their names will be announced closer to the event.

4.2 The jury may stop performances and withhold awards. Their decisions are final. In a tie, the Jury President’s vote is decisive.

4.3 Jury deliberations follow internal rules. Jurors cannot vote for a candidate they taught regularly in the past two years.

5. Accommodation / Travel

5.1 Travel costs, including transfers to/from Moroccan train stations and airports, are the responsibility of the candidate.

5.2 For non-resident, unaccompanied adult candidates, hotel accommodation with half board is covered by the Competition from October 25 to November 2, 2025 inclusive.

6. General Terms

6.1 The Organizing Committee may amend any part of these rules if necessary, with notice to participants.

6.2 The Committee may cancel the 2025 edition in case of major circumstances. In such cases, registration fees will be refunded.

Only the French version of the regulations is legally binding.
